Are the Rams ready to upset the Eagles in Philly?
The Los Angeles Rams have made the cross-country trip to face the Philadelphia Eagles this afternoon for the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs. It’s a game that holds plenty of significance, of course, with this afternoon’s winner advancing to host the NFC Championship game.
Do the Rams have a chance against a very physical Eagles offense that features an All-Pro running back in Saquon Barkley and plenty of firepower in quarterback Jalen Hurts and the passing game? As Buffalo Bills fans recall, LA was more than up to the challenge, successfully taking down the Bills 44-42 in Week 14.
If quarterback Matthew Stafford has a game anywhere near as complete as Week 14, Philadelphia is in trouble. Even short of that, if wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp exact their brand of dominance on the Eagles’ impressive defense, LA has a chance.
It’s not going to be easy for the Rams to best the league’s top-rated defense as seven-point underdogs with FanDuel Sportsbook, but LA has something else on its side: that’s momentum and the hopes of Los Angeles community devastated by extreme wildfires. Mindset is often an X-factor in the playoffs, especially for the team that’s able to play clean, turnover-free football.
These teams last met in Week 12, with the Eagles soaring to a 37-20 win at SoFi Stadium. Barkley was demonstrative that day, running for 255 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. The Rams and especially Stafford played well, but nowhere near the level of Philly that afternoon.
Here’s your open thread for this afternoon’s game to gear up before the heavyweight fight between the Bills and Baltimore Ravens. As always, be kind to one another — and in all things... Go Bills!
