The Philadelphia Eagles have made some notable trades this offseason, having made a move to acquire John Metchie III from the Houston Texans on Sunday. However, one insider has suggested that their business may not be over.
Last season’s sacks leader, Trey Hendrickson, has yet to get the deal he desires from the Cincinnati Bengals, and it’s thought that he could be on the move.
The Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions have been named as the likeliest destinations for the 2024 All-Pro, while he has also been linked to the Cleveland Browns.
However, the Eagles are being listed as a “sneaky candidate” based on a recent revelation from Jordan Schultz.
The NFL insider disclosed a text message he received from a general manager on an AFC team following Sunday’s trade, which reads, “Don’t think Eagles are done with trades. They have so many picks next year and that team is always gonna be aggressive.”

Nate Davis of USA Today reckons Howie Roseman should be piqued, given that he was interested after Myles Garrett requested a trade out of Cleveland a few months ago.
“Roseman was rumored as a suitor for Garrett when the Browns superstar requested a trade earlier this year before taking a pile of money to remain in Cleveland,” he suggested.
While the Eagles’ pass rush is still quite formidable, they should be monitoring the situation. Hendrickson led the NFL in sacks with 17.5 in 2024 and also made the most pressures, with 92.
On the flipside, he’s already 30 and the desired package for him would be massive, yet Phily is thought to make sense as a destination after losing Josh Sweat in free agency and Brandon Graham to retirement.
They still have solid depth at the defensive end, but their players lack the experience Trey Hendrickson would give them.
