The Philadelphia Eagles are set to move on from DE Bryce Huff following their Super Bowl win in February.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Huff will join the San Francisco 49ers in a trade that will see the reigning champs acquire a mid-round pick.
Huff has already restructured his deal with Philadelphia to facilitate the move – one that would reunite him with former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh – with both teams said to be working to make the deal go through, though it would not be official until June 21.
“But both sides are working to make it happen, and Huff already has reworked his contract to help facilitate the trade. In San Francisco, Huff will be reunited with 49ers DC Robert Saleh, his former HC with the Jets,” Shefter reported on Friday.

Huff was poised to make around $17 million in guaranteed money next season, but the Eagles will only take on around $9.05 of that, with the Niners to be responsible for the rest.
Huff has recorded 20 career sacks in the NFL since joining the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He moved to Philly in 2024, signing a three-year deal worth $51 million, but struggled last season, making just 2.5 sacks and missing seven games due to injuries.
He was inactive for the Super Bowl, which suggested that he was done with the team, and fueled further speculation after failing to show up for voluntary offseason workouts.
As for the 49ers, they’re adding some depth to their pass rush and will hope Bryce Huff can bounce back after his struggles last season.
