There is “some concern” that Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson won’t be available to play against the 49ers.

There’s been a lot of back-and-forth on whether Johnson will play in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Wild Card playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers. Johnson is officially listed as questionable to play after being limited in practice all week.

The latest update comes from NFL insider Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.

“He was limited in practice all week. He looked good in spurts, but that’s a tough injury. It’s a painful injury. I would say that this is a legitimate game-time decision,” Garafolo said on NFL GameDay. Lane Johnson has not suited up to play in the last seven games. He has been out with a Lisfranc sprain.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added, “If Lane Johnson can possibly be out there, he will be. But the concern is real.”

Lane Johnson’s absence is unlikely to hurt them much, according to social media. Unhappy NFL fans believe the contest is fixed for the Eagles to win. The Eagles are 8-1 in games officiated by Alan Eck. On the flip side, the 49ers are just 3-6 in games the veteran official works.

Philadelphia Could Still Be In Good Shape Without Lane Johnson

Lane Johnson, a 6-time NFL All-Pro right offensive tackle, missed the final seven games of the regular season. The team went 3-3, with one game where they sat their starters for much of it.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has reported the Eagles were “optimistic” Johnson will be able to return this weekend. Johnson suffered the Lisfranc sprain during the first quarter of a Week 11 win over the Detroit Lions.

If Johnson is ultimately unable to return in time to take on the 49ers, Fred Johnson will make his ninth start of the season. He has allowed only two sacks and 18 pressures in 626 offensive snaps.

Having Johnson could be great for the Eagles, but the team won’t fall apart without him.
