The Philadelphia Eagles will make history by adding two new male cheerleaders for the 2025 NFL season.
Twelve NFL teams will feature male cheerleaders this season: the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tennessee Titans.
In a new video release, the Eagles announced they’ve added two males to the cheerleading squad in 2025, per TaRhonda Thomas of Action News. Dalton Walsh and Alex Fan are the rookies joining veteran James LeGette, who joined the club’s cheerleading squad in 2021.
The video shows LeGette, Walsh, and Fan doing a cheer together inside the Novacare Complex, the Eagles’ training center.

Some disgruntled Vikings fans have threatened to cancel their season tickets over the inclusion of male cheerleaders. Not fazed by the criticism, new Vikings cheerleader Blaize Shiek clapped back with an Instagram post writing, “Wait…did someone say our name?”
When they defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime of Super Bowl 58, the Kansas City Chiefs became the first NFL team to complete a repeat since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots. Their bid to perform the first three-peat, however, ended with a blowout loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl 59.
The NFL has only featured one instance of consecutive Super Bowl repeats in history. The Miami Dolphins won back-to-back Super Bowls in 1972 and ’73, only for Terry Bradshaw’s Pittsburgh Steelers to respond with consecutive titles of their own in 1974 and ’75.
Jalen Hurts and company face a daunting task in completing the ultra-rare repeat, but they’re bringing back most of the same star-studded core from last year. The title defense kicks off on Sept. 4 with a home tilt against the Dallas Cowboys.
