Philadelphia Eagles Interview 2x Super Bowl-Winning Coach

Upset with how the offense performed in 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles decided to demote first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. While there’s still a possibility that the Eagles welcome Patullo back in a different role, he won’t be involved in play-calling in 2026.

The Eagles have yet to replace Patullo’s position on Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff. Yet, it’s only a matter of time before they do.

On Wednesday, the Eagles interviewed one of the top coaching candidates available, former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. The two-time Super Bowl-winning coordinator had previously been linked to one of the NFL’s head coaching vacancies, but he may get left out of the picture.

Nagy could very well still land a head coaching job, but if he doesn’t, he’s seemingly one of the favorites to take over playcalling duties in Philadelphia. If so, it would be the second time he’s been employed by the Eagles’ organization.

The first time came under Andy Reid from 2008 to 2012, when he accepted a position as a coaching intern. He then became a coach’s assistant in 2010 before earning the offensive quality control coach job from 2011 to 2012. When coach Reid left Philadelphia for Kansas City in 2013, Nagy followed him to the Chiefs, where he became their QB coach until 2015.

He then finally landed his first offensive coordinator position, again with Kansas City from 2016 to 2017, before getting another promotion, this time as head coach of the Chicago Bears. He’d led them to a respectable 34-31 record across four seasons.

Once Nagy was let go in Chicago, he returned to Reid’s staff in Kansas City as the senior assistant and QB coach before retaining offensive coordinator duties from 2023 to 2025.
