There’s been a lot of drama surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles this season, especially A.J. Brown. It’s the type of drama that could derail a good team right off the tracks to success.
Yet, despite all the talk of an offense that isn’t living up to expectations, the Eagles are still 6-2 and on top of the NFC East for the second year in a row. Still, even though Philadelphia appears more than poised to defend its Super Bowl trophy with another deep playoff run, there are still Eagles rumors swirling.
With much being made about Brown’s actions, either on the sidelines or on social media, some are wondering if the Eagles would trade their top receiver.
Officially, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles are “not expected” to trade Brown.
However, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio interprets Schefter’s report on Brown in a much different light. He believes the Eagles may actually be hoping to twist a team’s arm into making a big blockbuster offer for the team’s leading receiver of the past three seasons (DeVonta Smith is the Eagles’ leader this year).
The Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline is approaching quickly. Teams will be in action for Week 9, then the deadline arrives right away on Tuesday. That doesn’t give the Eagles much time to weigh the best offers against each other, which may be why some think they’re trying to spur some action before the deadline passes.
