The Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly snubbed an invitation to the White House following their Super Bowl victory.

The U.S. Sun had social media buzzing after they essentially published a weeks-old report asserting that the Eagles would not be accepting a potential White House invitation following their win in Super Bowl LIX, citing “a well-placed insider” calling it a “massive no.”

“We focus on the game for now, but if we win the Super Bowl, we wouldn’t go to the White House,” a member of the ownership group told The Sun.

It turns out that the report about the Philadelphia Eagles was initially published days before the Super Bowl was set to be played.

“I just want to win Sunday,” owner Jeffrey Lurie said at the time.

According to a new report from Front Office Sports, the Eagles have apparently changed their mind about the visit.

Front Office Sports insiders Michael McCarthy and Alex Schiffer reported hours later that the team hasn’t even received a White House invitation.

Should they get it, they are actually leaning toward accepting.

The Eagles have not had a chance to skip an Oval Office visit because an official invitation has not been sent yet, sources tell Front Office Sports. A source close to the NFL foresees the Eagles “accepting” a Trump invite once it’s made.

The First Philadelphia Eagles’ Team To Win Super Bowl Did Not Go To The White House

The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly declined to visit President Donald Trump at the White House, but new reports state they plan on changing their minds.

Should they do that, it would be the first time the Eagles have been to the White House, even though the franchise has now won two Super Bowls.

The 2018 Philadelphia Eagles did not visit the White House following a Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots. Donald Trump was in office at that time as well.
