Philadelphia fans risked drawing the ire of Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift on Friday while attending the Eagles Super Bowl parade. Fans came decked out in all sorts of Eagles gear and with plenty of alcohol in hand. But one group of fans in particular took a shot at Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The fans cooked up a whole pig, which they named “Patty the Pig” and carved the number 15, Mahomes’ number, into the pig’s midsection. They also topped the pig with a wig that resembled Mahomes’ famed curly hairstyle.

“‘Patty’ was created ‘to kill two birds with one stone,'”, Eagles fan Nelson Rivera told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “His wife wasn’t happy the parade fell on Valentine’s Day, so the pig is both their romantic dinner and a tribute to the Eagles defense — who ‘smoked’ the Chiefs’ offense, Rivera said — wrapped up in one crispy hog. It spun for hours over the fire at the back of Rivera’s shop for his heating and air conditioning business.”
Now, on its own that would be hilarious. And it is hilarious. But it might hit a little close to home for the Mahomes family.
Earlier this season, Buffalo Bills fans hanged a Kermit the Frog doll wearing a wig and Mahomes jersey in effigy. The Chiefs quarterback is often compared to the character. According to the Daily Mail, both Swift and her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, were taken aback by the display. They informed Brittany Mahomes, who was similarly upset by the display.
Now, the Bills incident was incredibly stupid but more or less harmless. The Eagles roasting up a Mahomes pig is even more innocent. But undoubtedly, there will be people who are extremely upset by the whole ordeal.
