Buffalo Rumblings
It’s Monday night, Rumblers, and well past the 24-hour rule of mourning following any Buffalo Bills loss. That said, losing to the woebegone Miami Dolphins is likely to require more than a day of recovery. It’s not a game Buffalo had any business losing — not at this point of the season, and not with a head coach who’s had nine years to get “trap-game syndrome” well out of his process.
But here we are, many likely uninspired by tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers. The Eagles have had plenty of success in recent seasons and their fans can sometimes be a bit much to endure. The Packers have not had quarterback trouble since the 1980s before Brett Favre left Atlanta for Title Town.
There’s a lot of success between these two NFC franchises, all told. Truthfully, the Packers have a pretty awesome fan base — the only one in the NFL to claim ownership of their team. You don’t have the same worry of heading to the ER just because you decided to root for your favorite team in Green Bay. In Philly? Moving on…
There are rooting interests this evening, which has Bills Mafia looking for an Eagles win as it would improve Buffalo’s Strength of Schedule (SOS) AFC tiebreaker. No one wants to pull out an SOS for the Bills to get into the playoffs, but the 2025 NFL season is anything other than normal. It’s best to grab every favorable opportunity when available.
So apologies to Packers fans about this evening, it’s really nothing personal. This one’s about Buffalo’s postseason. With that, here’s your open thread for Week 10 of Monday Night Football, which means listening for Troy Aikman to give the football world more unfortunate double entendre.
As always, be kind to one another — and in all things… Go Bills!
