Bolts From The Blue
Cornerback Donte Jackson recorded his fourth interception of the season on Monday night and his ninth overall over the past two seasons. That takeaway helped solidify an elite 91.6 game grade for the veteran as he left the team’s win as the highest-graded player in primetime.
For anyone who managed to watch the entire game, you’d probably be surprised if there was any more highly-graded players due to the chaotic mess both teams put out there, and you’d be right! Still, several other Chargers had their fingerprints on this win all the same.
With that said, let’s go ahead and check out the highest and lowest graded players on the Chargers from their win over the Eagles.
Best (min. 20 snaps)
OT Jamaree Salyer – 76.2
TE Will Dissly – 66.9
OG Zion Johnson – 60.4
RB Kimani Vidal – 60.2
WR Keenan Allen – 59.1
In his second game as the team’s starting left tackle, Salyer graded out as the top player on offense for the Chargers. Both of his pass block and run block grades finished above 70.0 with his pass block grade of 77.7 being his best.
Dissly’s run block grade og 71.0 was third best on the team and his 68.8 in pass pro was fairly strong, as well.
Both Vidal and Allen aided their fair share of production to the Chargers’ win, but neither produced more than average grades across the board.
Worst
OG Mekhi Becton – 31.8
TE Oronde Gadsden II – 43.3
OT Bobby Hart – 44.6
QB Justin Herbert – 45.4
OT Trey Pipkins – 47.8
At one point while the game was still going on, Pro Football Focus’ live grading had Becton’s pass block grade at one point as low as 0.3. That’s….almost an impossibly bad number to hit, but luckily for him the final number wasn’t as bad. As of Tuesday morning, his final pass block grade was an improved…13.7. Both Becton and Hart allowed eight total pressures to the Eagles with Becton also allowing a sack.
Herbert completed less than half of his passes, but it was nearly impossible for him to have a dropback that did not result in a pressure.
Best
CB Donte Jackson – 91.6
DT Jamaree Caldwell – 78.4
EDGE Odafe Oweh – 78.4
EDGE Khalil Mack – 75.1
LB Denzel Perryman – 72.2
Jackson picked off his fourth pass of the season, giving him nine since the start of the 2024 season. He posted an elite 91.6 coverage grade after allowing just one catch on four targets for three yards.
Caldwell played a clean game with his best game grade coming in tackling (66.8) on a night where the Bolts struggled in that area. Oweh recorded the Chargers’ only sack of the night and finished the team’s highest pass rush grade (82.5), as well.
Mack tied with Oweh to produce six pressures on Jalen Hurts. He also led the team with five “stops” which constitutes a failed play by the...
