Plus, fans are happy with the Patriots’ defensive coordinator pick.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs square off this evening in Super Bowl LIX with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes looking to lead his team to the first ever “three-peat” in the Super Bowl era.

New England Patriots fans are overwhelmingly rooting against him.

When surveyed, 91 percent of Patriots fans said they were rooting for the Eagles in this year’s Super Bowl. Just nine percent are backing Kansas City.

If the Chiefs win, it would be the fourth ring for Mahomes. That would tie Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw for the second most all time, but the Kansas City quarterback would still be three behind Tom Brady.

Should the Eagles pull out a victory, they would tie the Ravens, Buccaneers, Colts, Dolphins, and Rams with two Super Bowl victories.

NFL fans are split on who they expect to win this year. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Kansas City is favored by just 1.5 points. Forty-nine percent of fans think they’ll cover that spread, while 51 percent think they won’t.

Fans are expected a higher scoring game, with 56 percent expecting the total score to go over the line of 48.5 points.

A few weeks back, the Patriots announced their new coordinator hires for 2025. That included former Lions and Titans defensive line coach Terrell Williams taking the defensive coordinator job in New England. Patriots fans are excited about him with 88 percent saying he’s the right hire for the team this season.
