Even after three straight losing seasons, New England Patriots fans were feeling quite good about their team to start the 2025 season; 91 percent of them expressed optimism about the club’s outlook ahead of Week 1. Then came the actual season opener, and with it a sharp drop down to 56 percent.
So, how about now? The Patriots rebounded from their loss to the Las Vegas Raiders by out-gunning the Dolphins in Miami. Their 33-27 victory — the first of Mike Vrabel’s tenure as head coach — was a definitive step in the right direction compared to previous Sunday. The again, the Dolphins are increasingly looking like a team on the verge of collapse.
The same cannot be said about the Pittsburgh Steelers, even though they were just blown out by the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. Still, the team of quarterback Aaron Rodgers might be a better measuring stick than Miami. And with that in mind, let’s turn to this week’s SB Nation Reacts question: How confident are you in the Patriots heading into Week 3?
