New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins is set to return to the practice fields at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Hollins, who has been on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, missed each of the seven training camp practices to this point. The session is scheduled to be a walk-through, however, meaning Hollins will have to wait to see real action in pads.
Rapoport’s report surfaced about 45 minutes before the start of the 10 a.m. ET practice.
Hollins signed a two-year, $8.4 million deal with the Patriots during the offseason.
He joins a crowded wide receiver room headlined by Stefon Diggs. Third-round rookie Kyle Williams, DeMario Douglas, Diggs and Hollins look to be roster locks while Kayshon Boutte has earned extensive work with starting quarterback Drake Maye, as well.
The return of Hollins surely puts more pressure on other receivers competing for a spot, a group which includes Kendrick Bourne, Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker.
