The New England Patriots began preparations for the Pittsburgh Steelers with No. 0.
Christian Gonzalez returned to practice as a limited participant on Wednesday. The reigning All-Pro cornerback had missed the first two games of September due to a hamstring injury that lingered since the first padded session of training camp in July.
But defensive end Keion White stayed sidelined in Foxborough to open the week.
Here’s the first injury report ahead of Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.
White was on hand, albeit as a non-participant for the Patriots on Wednesday. The former No. 46 overall pick out of Old Dominion and Georgia Tech has now missed four consecutive practices because of an illness. In his absence last weekend, veteran Anfernee Jennings was back off the edges of the defense after being a healthy inactive for the season opener.
Nine practiced in a partial capacity for the Patriots. On the offensive line, both Wilson and Moses started and stayed in for all 60 snaps last Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. The latter had been questionable and was spotted in a walking boot after the 33-27 AFC East win. And on the defensive side of the ball, Barmore notched a tackle for loss as well as a quarterback hit at Hard Rock Stadium, all while Landry and Chaisson added to their September sack tallies and Mapu intercepted a fourth-down pass. As for Davis, the veteran cornerback played 57 out of 58 snaps.
No Patriots officially graduated to full participation on Wednesday. As for the Steelers’ side of the aisle, Queen went in full. The starting off-ball linebacker is working through an oblique injury and has accounted for 14 tackles on the campaign.
