Pats Pulpit
Even though they did not play a clean game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, the New England Patriots were able to keep their win streak alive for another week. Now having won six in a row, they are tied for the longest unbeaten streak in the NFL. And yet, the oddsmakers are not confident in the 7-2 team heading into its Week 10 matchup with the 6-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As a look at the odds presented by FanDuel Sportsbook shows, the team of head coach Mike Vrabel enters Week 10 as 2-5-point underdogs on the road.
Being underdogs is nothing new for the Patriots; this week marks the fourth such time the oddsmakers do not trust them to come away victoriously. Recently, however, they have avoided that fate: in the three games after their road upset over the Buffalo Bills — a game they had entered as 8-point underdogs — they were listed as favorite each time. They won all three contests, going 2-1 against the spread along the way.
Kickoff between the Patriots and Buccaneers is set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 9, at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.
