Pats Pulpit
Following three straight road games, the New England Patriots return to Gillette Stadium where they welcome the Cleveland Browns to town.
Despite sitting at 5-2 on the season and in the midst of a four game winning streak, the Patriots are only 1-2 in Foxborough this season and remain the worst home team in football since 2023. The focus now lies on turning that around, beginning with a strong opportunity against the 2-5 Browns with rookie Dillon Gabriel under center.

The Browns won the toss and deferred, putting Drake Maye and the Patriots offense on the field to begin Sunday. Runs by TreVeyon Henderson and Drake Maye picked up three sets of first downs to quickly set the offense up outside of the red zone. There they faced a third-down in which Maye found Stevenson out wide to move the chains again. Then set-up with a following third-down inside the 10-yard line, Myles Garrett beat chip help to get home for a sack. Andy Borregales’ 36-yard field goal was good. [Patriots 3 : 0 Browns]
New England’s defense saw the Browns overcome an opening third-and-11 as Gabriel found an open Harold Fannin Jr. as Marte Mapu was picked in coverage running across the middle. A reverse to Jamari Thrash then broke for 31 yards to set up Cleveland in the red zone. One play later, Gabriel found Fannin Jr. wide open for an 18-yard touchdown. [Patriots 3 : 7 Browns]
The Patriots turned to the run game on their second possession of the game with three straight carries for Rhamondre Stevenson — the last being stuffed on third-and-short leading to a punt.
An opening pass to Thrash went for 10 yards and a first-down, but that was the success Cleveland found on their second possession. Brining pressure on third-down, Gabriel’s pass was incomplete with Carlton Davis tight in coverage at the sticks.
