The New England Patriots continued work on the unbeaten Buffalo Bills without Milton Williams.
The defensive tackle became a non-participant in Foxborough on Thursday while dealing with an ankle injury. But outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson and safety Jaylinn Hawkins returned as limited participants on that side of the ball.
Here’s the second injury report leading up to Sunday’s 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff at Highmark Stadium.
The month of September saw Williams total four starts, five tackles for loss as well as two sacks. The Super Bowl LIX champion has handled 68.3 percent of the defensive snaps for the Patriots. He was a partial participant to begin AFC East preparations before being sidelined by his ankle injury on Thursday.
With knee and hamstring ailments, respectively, Chaisson and Hawkins had been absent from Wednesday’s practice. Both joined limited group on Thursday. While the starting edge defender carried a questionable game status into last weekend’s win over the Carolina Panthers, the starting safety was announced questionable to return during what became a 42-13 win at Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots recently started Tavai’s 21-day clock to return from injured reserve. The veteran linebacker has since been available in full for back-to-back practices. He was among a handful in that tier on Thursday. And so was a rookie starter at left guard. Wilson, the No. 95 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, had been ruled last week because of ankle and knee injuries. Versatile backup Ben Brown got the call in his absence on the interior offensive line.
