Patriots vs. Bills Friday injury report: Milton Williams among four questionable

The New England Patriots will travel to Orchard Park with four questionable players.

Defensive tackle Milton Williams stands among them after going from limited to sidelined to limited during AFC East prep because of an ankle injury.

The list also includes outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson, inside linebacker Jahlani Tavai and cornerback Carlton Davis III. But on the other side of the ball, a rookie starter will go without a game designation against the unbeaten Buffalo Bills.

“Yeah, he’s worked hard to come back,” head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters of left guard Jared Wilson, a recent inactive due to knee and ankle issues. “And so, as of right now, the plan is to start Jared and continue that development there on the left side and his play.”

Here’s the early, final injury report ahead of Sunday’s 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff at Highmark Stadium.

OUT

Patriots

  • No players listed

Bills

  • LB Dorian Williams (knee)
  • CB Dorian Strong (neck)

The Bills will host the Patriots down two Dorians on defense. Both the linebacker and the cornerback finished the week as non-participants and were ruled out for Sunday night by head coach Sean McDermott during his appearance on WGR550.

QUESTIONABLE

Patriots

  • DT Milton Williams (ankle)
  • LB K’Lavon Chaisson (knee)
  • LB Jahlani Tavai (calf — IR return)
  • CB Carlton Davis III (illness)

Bills

  • TBA

Williams handled 68.3 percent of the defensive snaps over the course of September while tallying nine tackles, five for loss and two sacks. The Super Bowl LIX champion practiced twice in a partial capacity to begin October. He is joined in the questionable group by veterans off the edges, off the ball as well as in the secondary. Of whom, Chaisson marked the lone non-participant during Friday’s in-stadium session. Davis went in full. And so did Tavai, who recently saw his 21-day return window open after spending the past four games on injured reserve with a calf injury.

“It was exciting to see him get out there and practice on defense and special teams and try to see where he’s at,” Vrabel said of Tavai, a candidate to be activated by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday. “We’ll see how he responds in the morning and we’ll make a decision going forward.”
