New England Patriots linebacker Jahlani Tavai will miss Sunday’s matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

Tavai, who previously missed four games after landing on injured reserve with a calf injury over the offseason, will be absent due to personal reasons, according to head coach Mike Vrabel.

Vrabel did not get into the specifics.

New England will otherwise be at full strength, with wide receiver Kayshon Boutte (hamstring), running back Rhamondre Stevenson (toe), tight end Austin Hooper (concussion) and linebacker Christian Ellis (hip) all scheduled to return from multi-game absences.

Tavai, 29, has started four games this season and has 19 total tackles serving as a rotational linebacker behind Robert Spillane, Jack Gibbens and Elliss — though he did see an uptick in playing time following an injury to the latter.
