The Patriots will continue their 2025 training camp on Thursday.
The New England Patriots got their feet wet on Wednesday, holding a 90-minute session to kick off their 2025 training camp. On Thursday, they will return to the fields behind Gillette Stadium for the second session — one expected to follow a similar ramp-up pattern.
Here is all you need to know about practice No. 2.
The Patriots’ second training camp session will again take place on the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium. As are most other sessions, it is open to the general public at no cost.
As always, the schedule is tentative and subject to change. For more information, please visit our Pats Pulpit Training Camp Guide.
After being cleared for full practice participation, Stefon Diggs was actively involved during Wednesday’s first practice of the summer. The veteran offseason signing hauled in two catches from Drake Maye while simultaneously looking good running routes both on the inside and on the outside of the formation.
Serving as a starter-level contributor at the Z-receiver spot, Diggs’ workload will be something to keep an eye on today. Will he continue to fill a prominent role atop the depth chart, or will the Patriots try to both mix and match their personnel and manage the 31-year-old’s exposure?

On the other hand, Ja’Lynn Polk was a surprise absentee; the second-year wideout underwent shoulder surgery during the offseason and was a limited participant in the spring.
WR Kayshon Boutte: Boutte emerged as the Patriots’ top perimeter wide receiver in 2024, and it looks like he is keeping this role early in training camp. Something did change, though: he was not used exclusively at the X-receiver spot, but instead moved all over the formation. Boutte was projected as a roster bubble player or trade candidate earlier in the offseason, but it is clear the team views him highly enough to give him prominent reps.
WR Kyle Williams: Even though he was not used as a starter, Williams had an active practice on Wednesday that included two receptions from Drake Maye — among them arguably the best catch of the day — and also was part of the punt returner rotation. Training camp is about stringing days together, though, so the third-round rookie will need to show some consistency to prove himself worthy of a regular role.
