The Patriots will have plenty of cash to burn this offseason — and this time we fully expect them to do it.

The NFL sent a memo to teams on Wednesday, informing them that the per-team salary cap will fall in the range of $277.5 million to $281.5 million, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN. The NFL has seen an increase in the cap by more than $53 million over the last two years, with last year’s cap coming in at $255.4 million.

Yes, that’s an insane amount of money.

New England is likely to be the main beneficiary of the jump, as the expectation is it will have between $131.19 million and $135.19 million in cap space this offseason — the most of any team. The NFLPA still has to decide on a prior deferral, which is why a final number isn’t set.

The Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers and Chicago Bears will round out the top five.

How should the club use all of its money? You can find out here.
