Stefon Diggs’ viral boat video has reportedly become so problematic for the New England Patriots that there’s a possibility he’ll be cut before ever playing a snap for them.
Earlier this week, a video surfaced of Stefon Diggs hanging out with three women on a boat during Memorial Day weekend. At one point in the video, Diggs was spotted possessing an unidentified pink substance.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said it’s important “to make great decisions on and off the field,” and told reporters Diggs wasn’t at practice. Vrabel wouldn’t detail the conversations he had with Diggs.
Mike Vrabel on the viral Stefon Diggs video:
“It’s something we’re aware of. We want to make great decisions on and off the field.”
On if he expects Diggs to practice today:

It appears that the Diggs video has become so problematic and worrisome in Foxborough that the Patriots are considering releasing Diggs, who signed a three-year deal worth up to $69 million in free agency.
Speaking on 98.5 The Sports Hub, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports that cutting Diggs is certainly a possibility for the Patriots. Breer noted that the Pats would have to release Diggs immediately in order to save some of the guaranteed money ($26 million):
“I sort of think all things are on the table and I think really, to me at least, it’s going to boil down to what Stef told [head coach Mike] Vrabel, and how believable it was.
Cause I think it’s going to be hard for anybody, the league is going to look into this, and they’re going to hit a dead end cause they’re not going to be able to prove what was in the bag. There’s no way for them to prove what was in the bag. So then, it’s up to the team to make a decision.
And if the team wants to recoup any of the guaranteed money, they have to cut him right away. Because you can’t hold him on the roster for two weeks and then decide, OK, we’re done with you then, so my guess would be, the reason he wasn’t at practice — this is purely a guess — but my guess would be the reason he wasn’t at practice the other day might be because Mike told him to stay away and maybe they’re sorting through everything now.”
A six-time 1,000-yard receiver, Diggs caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns with the Houston Texans in eight games before suffering a season-ending ACL tear.
It’s well-known across the NFL that Diggs carries plenty of baggage. He put up all-world numbers in his four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, but his attitude...
