New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel can (currently) do no wrong.
It’s the benefit of completely turning around the fortunes of a franchise, doubling its win total from each of the last two seasons, helping develop the franchise quarterback and reviving the careers of veterans who appeared to be on a downward track…
Vrabel, by all accounts, has been the primary reason for each of those things. Stefon Diggs, who firmly fits in the latter category, helped explain what makes the head coach so successful during his session with media on Tuesday.
“He’s kinda like that perfect parent. He’s tough on you,” Diggs said, per team-provided video. “… He wants you to work hard, wants the best for you, he’s going to demand it from you each and every day. But, he was a player too, so he kinda understands.”
It’ll remain to be seen how he’s perceived when things inevitably start heading in the opposite direction.
But for now, the man is indestructible.
