The New England Patriots received a gigantic lift during practice on Wednesday.

Christian Gonzalez is back.

Gonzalez ended his lengthy absence — which lasted six consecutive weeks while he nursed the hamstring injury he suffered during training camp — by joining the session as a limited participant.

Christian Barmore, Harold Landry III, Marte Mapu, Morgan Moses, Jack Westover, Jared Wilson, K’Lavon Chaisson and Carlton Davis III were also limited, with the latter four players all being added following Sunday’s comeback win over the Miami Dolphins.

Darius Slay, T.J. Watt, DeShon Elliot, Joey Porter Jr. and Alex Highsmith all missed practice at The Art Rooney Sports Complex, with the former two receiving veteran rest days — which have become a staple under Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
