New England Patriots fans received some good news on Friday regarding star defensive tackle Milton Williams.
The 26-year-old offseason addition returned to practice on Friday, two days ahead of the team’s Week 5 “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Williams was limited in Wednesday’s practice due to an ankle injury and missed Thursday’s session due to the issue.
“(K’Lavon) Chaisson only one missing for the Patriots at the start of an in-stadium practice. Milton Williams, who was out yesterday, is back this morning,” Christopher Price of The Boston Globe posted on Bluesky.
“DT Milton Williams (97) is present for the media-access portion of Friday’s practice after missing Thursday’s practice (ankle),” ESPN’s Mike Reiss added on Bluesky. “Media-access portion was just stretching today.”
The fifth-year pro spent the first four seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2021 to 2024 before signing a four-year, $104 million contract with the Patriots in March. Williams helped the Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, finishing the game with four tackles, 2.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
After being picked as a potential first-time Pro Bowler ahead of the 2025 campaign by NFL.com senior news writer Kevin Patra, the Louisiana Tech product was one of New England’s best defenders in September.
Williams finished the month with a team-high five tackles for loss, plus three quarterback hits and 2.0 sacks.
Patriots fans will have to wait until the team’s Friday injury report comes out to see if the former third-round pick has an injury designation heading into Sunday’s primetime showdown.
