It seemed like the chances of the New England Patriots drafting one of the top players in the class was lost when it received the No. 4 pick, but that could change come April.

The Tennesee Titans and Cleveland Browns seem likely to take Cam Ward and Abdul Carter, respectively. The New York Giants could be in the quarterback business, depending on how they feel about Shedeur Sanders. That would set up the scenario of the Patriots selecting two-way superstar Travis Hunter.

NESN’s George Balekji and CLNS Media’s Taylor Kyles discussed New England draft plans on the latest “Foxboro Rush.” Kyles doesn’t believe the Stefon Diggs signing would prevent the Patriots from selecting Hunter, and the NFL analyst believes it’s the move they must make to continue to upgrade the offense.

Kyles noted the only hesitation would be if another team offered a hefty trade package that included something along the lines of two first-round picks and a second-round pick. Balekji admitted that might not be enough, if he were the Patriots, to pass up on a generational talent like Hunter.

There is debate regarding whether the Colorado product should play more on offense or defense. But the fact that debate exists should be even more reason that Hunter should be the pick at No. 4 if he is available to New England.
