The New England Patriots spent the majority of their offseason working on upgrading their offense. That led to them selecting Kyle Williams in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, as they believe he can have an immediate impact in the pros as a rookie.

Williams enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2024 with the Washington State Cougars, as he caught 70 passes for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns. With the Patriots needing more weapons for second-year quarterback Drake Maye, they put their faith in Williams by bringing him to town.

So far, Williams has been a model citizen in Foxboro, MA. He’s been eager to learn, while also showcasing his sky-high potential on the field. It’s hard to ignore his early chemistry with Maye, as the pair linked up on several occasions throughout practice on Wednesday.

There’s no doubt Williams turned heads during practice, but he also caught some attention before things got underway. That’s because Williams was showcasing his juggling talents, which is something he utilizes before taking the field in order to get himself ready for action.

Not everyone can juggle, as it requires an immense amount of hand-eye coordination that takes time to master. Given that Williams’ day job requires him to be able to catch a football in a variety of situations, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the former Washington State star is also a juggling phenom.

Expectations for Williams in his rookie season are a bit unclear. While he’s a borderline lock to make the team’s initial 53-man roster, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to get playing time right off the bat.

Stefon Diggs, Demario Douglas, and Mack Hollins are leading the way in the wide receiver room currently, but there’s a lot of competition behind them, as Kendrick Bourne, Kayshon Boutte, Ja’Lynn Polk, Javon Baker, and Efton Chism III are fighting for what could only be a pair of roster spots.

Williams will have his chance to shine during training camp, and if he continues to make plays on a daily basis, he will have a shot to carve out a role for himself on offense as a rookie. For now, though, he’s going to focus on putting together another good day of work when he returns to the field on Thursday.
