The New England Patriots are promoting Tony Kinkela to director of college scouting, as first reported Wednesday by TheMMQB’s Albert Breer.

Arriving in 2022, Kinkela served as a national scout for the organization over the past three seasons and covered the Western United States.

The Graham, Washington native previously spent 13 campaigns with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including 11 as an area scout. His tenure there began as an NFL Scouting Combine scout, working alongside the league to invite prospects to the annual pre-draft event.

Prior to entering the pro ranks, Kinkela held the title of director of football operations for the Tulane Green Wave from 2006 through 2008. Kinkela’s collegiate experience also included two years as the assistant director of football operations at his alma mater, Washington State.

The former student assistant additionally worked as the assistant to the recruiting coordinator and was in the fold for the Cougars’ Rose Bowl, Holiday Bowl and Sun Bowl teams.

Camren Williams, who had been in Foxborough since 2016 and was named director of college scouting in 2022, departed in May to become co-director of player personnel for the Denver Broncos.
