The New England Patriots are gearing up for their Week 4 clash with the Carolina Panthers, but they could be missing one of their starters along their offensive line, as rookie left guard Jared Wilson has been dealt a concerning injury update on Thursday.

Selected in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Wilson won a starting gig on the Patriots’ offensive line right out of the gate, and he’s been a big part of the unit’s improved play through three games.

Despite playing every offensive snap through the first three weeks of the season, Wilson apparently picked up ankle and knee injuries in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, as he was forced to miss the team’s first practice of the week on Wednesday.

The hope was that the Patriots were simply being cautious with Wilson, but it turns out there’s a real reason for concern. That’s because Wilson missed practice again on Thursday, putting him at real risk of missing New England’s upcoming game.

If Wilson can’t go, the Pats’ o-line depth would truly be tested for the first time this season, as this group has largely remained healthy to this point. Ben Brown is the top interior backup on the offensive line, with Caedan Wallace also being an option.

As for some good news, K’Lavon Chaisson returned to practice after missing Wednesday’s session, while star cornerback Christian Gonzalez practiced in a limited capacity as he aims to make his season debut.

Wilson has one more shot to get himself on the practice field on Friday, but even if he does suit up, it seems like his chances of taking the field in Week 4 are somewhat slim. New England will square off against Carolina at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
