The New England Patriots made a couple of moves on their practice squad on Tuesday, and one of them was re-signing Marshall Lang.

Lang was originally an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern and signed with the Seattle Seahawks in May. The Seahawks released him on Aug. 26. Lang signed with the Patriots’ practice squad on Oct. 14, but was released just two days later.

Lang landed back with the Seahawks practice squad on Nov. 6 and was released again on Nov. 18. He will once again be with the Patriots. The Seahawks have released him twice this season, but his second stint was very short.

Lang checks in at 6-foot-4, 252 pounds. He was not a superstar in college either and is still looking to make a name for himself. In five seasons at Northwestern, he played in 51 games, tallying 48 receptions for 491 yards. He had four receiving touchdowns in college.

He has spent this season alternating between the Seahawks and Patriots practice squads. He played in the preseason, logging three catches for 20 yards. He is unlikely to see any game action barring a catastrophic run of injuries.

While the transaction to sign Lang is not huge, the Patriots have some potentially important transactions looming. Will Campbell and Milton Williams are close to returning.

Campbell is expected to practice before the Patriots take the field in Week 18, thus opening his practice window. Williams’ 21-day practice window is already open. Getting both players back could be huge for the Patriots’ playoff run.
