It’s never too early to start planning roster changes for the New England Patriots in 2026. One of the most effective ways to enhance the team is through the NFL Draft.

As the Patriots continue to excel on the field, they may find themselves selecting late in the first round. However, New England still has the opportunity to uncover valuable talent in that position.

New England could look to upgrade its receiving core, and USA Today NFL reporter Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz predicted the Patriots to draft Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston at No. 28.

“Drake Maye is hardly hurting in the deep passing game, with his 141.4 passer rating on throws of more than 20 yards ranking second only to Sam Darnold, according to Next Gen Stats,” Middlehurst-Schwartz wrote on Wednesday. “Yet the appeal of pairing the breakout quarterback with a 6-4, 210-pound downfield dynamo in Boston might be too immense for New England to ignore.”

Boston is having a great season, recording 52 receptions for 730 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games.

The NFL Draft isn’t until April, and a lot can change between now and then. However, Boston would be a nice fit alongside Maye, and perhaps the two can become one of the next best young quarterback-receiver duos in the league.
