New England Patriots - NESN.com
The New England Patriots enjoyed their bye week in Week 14, and they will now turn their attention to Week 15, where a big matchup against the Buffalo Bills awaits them. And if things go according to plan for the Pats when they take the field next, they could officially punch their ticket to the playoffs.
With the weekend off, New England spent Sunday watching the action around the rest of the league. Things didn’t really go its way, though, as the Las Vegas Raiders couldn’t upset the Denver Broncos, while the Cincinnati Bengals threw away a win against the Bills.
Even though Buffalo took down Cincinnati, N.E. still has a two-game lead in the AFC East with four games left to play. While there are several ways for the Patriots to win the division, if they simply beat the Bills for the second time this season, they will officially clinch the AFC East.
The Pats beat the Bills back in Week 5, when Drake Maye and company announced themselves to the rest of the league with a 23-20 win. That kickstarted a 10-game win streak for New England, and if it can earn one more victory, it will shockingly come out on top in the division.
Buffalo is going to be highly motivated heading into this game, though. You can bet the team will be looking for revenge after losing to New England earlier this season, and this is their last shot at staying alive in the division race.
The stakes are high, and while the Patriots have the inside track right now, the Bills have proven they are still one of the most dangerous teams in the league. Kickoff for this wildly important matchup is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
