The New England Patriots’ wide receiver room is one that many people don’t expect much from. They brought in veteran receiver Stefon Diggs, but outside of him, the other players are young and haven’t had a chance to prove themselves in the league.

But, hopes are high for one receiver that people are expecting a lot from this season.

NFL.com’s Gennaro Filice listed 11 newcomers that he thinks have a chance to make the 2025 NFL All-Rookie Team. And one of them is Kyle Williams, who was selected by the Patriots in the third round with the 69th overall pick.

“At 5-10 5/8 and 190 pounds, Williams’ physical stature doesn’t jump off the page,” Filice wrote. “But what the Los Angeles product lacks in size, he makes up for in explosiveness, playmaking ability, and raw DOGness.”

But, he also pointed out where Williams can improve.

“The 22-year-old still needs to refine the finer points of his game — eliminating concentration drops and polishing his route-running,” he added. “But there’s a lot of reason to believe he could wind up as a third-round steal who significantly nurtures the growth of Drake Maye.”

The rookie receiver has already made it clear that he is ready for the challenge the NFL brings, having already been practicing against one of the top cornerbacks in the league. His mindset when he’s receiving: “Don’t drop the money.”

“Every time the ball is there, that’s a bag of money, we can’t let that hit the floor because [then] that’s somebody else’s,” Williams told reporters at a youth football clinic. “So, just being able to make those plays, showing I can compete against those top-tier guys in the league.”

The rest of the NFL has officially been put on notice.
