The New England Patriots were on the wrong end of a horrendous pass interference call in the first quarter of their Week 6 battle against the New Orleans Saints. After Drake Maye connected with DeMario Douglas for a 61-yard touchdown reception, the play was rescinded due to an offensive pass interference call on Stefon Diggs that, upon further inspection, will leave any football fan on Earth in disbelief.
Luckily, the Patriots ended up overcoming the poor officiating and defeating the Saints, 25-19, behind an impressive performance from second-year quarterback Drake Maye, who three three touchdowns against New Orleans.
The Patriots are now 4-2. Mike Vrabel’s first season at the helm of New England has been successful thus far. The head coach was all smiles following the Week 6 victory, even as he discussed the questionable calls made against his team on Sunday.
In speaking as a guest on The Greg Hill Show, Vrabel described the officiating as “comical” while admitting that there’s not much he can do about it, especially because he has his hands full enough with leading an NFL football team.
Next up for the Patriots: a road test against Vrabel’s former team, the Tennessee Titans, who at 1-5 will be starving for a victory.
