The New England Patriots opened up mandatory minicamp on Monday, but not everyone was in attendance.
It’s nothing scandalous, though.
Mack Hollins, Jahlani Tavai, Wes Schweitzer, Myles Battle and Tyrese Robinson were non-participants for the first day of proceedings, per Mark Daniels of MassLive, though all of their absences were excused by head coach Mike Vrabel.
“We don’t have any holdouts, if that’s what you’re asking,” Vrabel said, per Alex Barth of 98.5 The Sports Hub.
Stefon Diggs, Ja’Lynn Polk, Michael Onwenu, Kyle Dugger, Vederian Lowe, Jared Wilson, Jaquelin Roy and Austin Hooper were limited.
Hollins, Tavai and Battle were all on hand to watch practice, with the latter having a brace on his left hand that helps explains why he didn’t participate. Tavai’s injury was reported on in the moment, while Hollins had been a steady presence despite having yet to practice.
I told you none of it was too juicy.
New England will have just one more mandatory minicamp practice on Tuesday, with the club electing to spend the final day in the meeting room instead of on the field.
The Patriots expect to have the same players in attendance for those sessions as they did the first, which is good news.
