The New England Patriots took care of some business on Tuesday.

New England, just hours after reportedly losing linebacker Mark Robinson to the New York Jets, made some other moves involving the practice squad by signing cornerback Tyron Herring and releasing cornerback Corey Ballentine.

Herring, 24, spent training camp with the Green Bay Packers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Dartmouth/Delaware — where he played in 40 games and finished with 121 tackles, 15 pass deflections and five interceptions.

Ballentine, 29, was elevated to the active roster for the first game of the of the year against the Las Vegas Raiders, but lost his special teams role to Charles Woods. Ballentine previously spent time with the New York Giants (2019-20), New York Jets (2020), Detroit Lions (2021) and Packers (2022-24).

The Patriots have filled just 52 of 53 spots on their active roster, as of Tuesday.
