Kevin Faulk is going through a tough time. The former LSU star and three-time Super Bowl champion came to know on Saturday that his daughter, Tanasha Faulk, died unexpectedly in Lafayette, Louisiana.
She was 30. The Acadiana Advocate reported that she passed away at Oschner Lafayette Medical Center. Officials have not given a cause of death, but they said there were no signs of foul play.
The news has been very hard on the Faulk family. They lost another daughter, Kevione, in 2021. She was just 19 and worked as a student assistant for the LSU football team. The family has deep ties to LSU, and many people in Baton Rouge still know them well.
According to her obituary, Tanasha Faulk was someone who loved her family and enjoyed life’s simple moments. She took great pride in raising her three daughters and watching them grow. “Being their mother brought her so much joy and she was immensely proud watching them grow and learn,” it read.
The Advocate also shared, “Tanasha also found joy in holidays, birthdays, family gatherings, and especially Mardi Gras. She loved to cook and was happiest when preparing meals that brought people together. Her generosity, laughter, and loving nature created a sense of home wherever she went.”
Kevin and his wife, Latisha, built a long life together. They met in middle school and raised three children, including their son, Kevin III. The family lived in the Lafayette area, where Kevin made his name long before his NFL career. Tanasha graduated from Carencro High in 2014. Her father won a state championship there in 1992 as a quarterback before he switched to running back at LSU.
Photos from the family show Tanasha Faulk staying close to her father’s football world. One image from 2016 shows her standing with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Kevin spent his entire NFL career in New England and won three Super Bowls before retiring.
After retirement, Kevin returned to LSU and coached running backs. He stayed close to the program and to the community that supported him for years. Friends, fans, and former teammates started reaching out as news spread about Tanasha’s death.
For the Faulk family, the grief is deep once again.
