The New England Patriots have six captains: quarterback Drake Maye, tight end Hunter Henry, linebacker Robert Spillane, cornerback Marcus Jones, linebacker Harold Landry III and special teamer Brenden Schooler.

Mike Vrabel has done his best to recognize the leadership qualities of those who don’t wear a “C” on their chest each week by introducing the idea of a game captain, though — which oftentimes features a player who is facing his former team.

K’Lavon Chaisson earned the recognition in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Stefon Diggs had his number called in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills. Carlton Davis III became the latest by working with the captains in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Davis previously spent six seasons in Tampa Bay, where he won Super Bowl LV before eventually being traded to the Detroit Lions in 2024.

Morgan Moses, Milton Williams, Jaylinn Hawkins, Khyiris Tonga, Pop Douglas, Kayshon Boutte and Mack Hollins have also served in the role this season.

The Patriots and Buccaneers will each look to hold onto their respective division leads with a victory on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium — with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
