The New England Patriots have had an eventful offseason after reaching the Super Bowl last year, and they’re surely excited to get back on the field and focus on football.

While a number of personnel moves have made waves, most notably the trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for A.J. Brown, the Pats might not be done. Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte has found himself in trade rumors this offseason, and a deal isn’t yet off the table.

With mandatory minicamps approaching, all eyes are on Boutte to see how he will handle the offseason while his name is in rumors around the league. For now, it looks like business as usual. On Saturday, the former LSU wideout told Dan Roche of WBZ-TV that he is planning on being at minicamp when it gets going on Tuesday.

Some @Patriots news…

WR Kayshon Boutte, who wasn't at Pats voluntary offseason program for the 1st time in his 4-year career, told our @AaronParseghian that he will be at Day 1 of Mandatory Minicamp Tuesday.

“I try not to buy into it. At the end of the day I can control what I can control,” Boutte said. “As long as I’m doing what I’m supposed to do off the field, everything else will play out.”

It makes sense that the Pats would be shopping Boutte after acquiring Brown considering the overlapping skillsets that they provide. The fourth-year wideout plays mostly on the outside and does a lot of his damage down the field. Brown also is an outside receiver who loves to win down the field, but he also has a much more well-rounded and explosive skillset.

Boutte had the best season of his career in 2025. He caught just 33 balls in 14 games, but those plays went for 551 yards and six touchdowns. Late in the season, as Drake Maye became more comfortable with him, he became a true weapon in the offense.

The price to acquire Boutte in a trade should be reasonable, so it makes sense that some teams would be interested in him. With the Patriots looking to rebuild holes on their defense and their offensive line in the coming years as they build around Maye, they could opt to part ways with the promising wideout for another asset elsewhere.
