The fallout of Bill Belichick’s CBS interview has been weird, to say the least.

Belichick went on a press tour to promote his new book, “The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.” Part of that tour included an interview with “CBS News Sunday Morning,” which featured an awkward interaction about New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

However, the moment that caught everyone’s attention was Jordon Hudson shutting down a question about her relationship with Belichick. According to TMZ, that wasn’t the only time the 24-year-old chimed in while sitting off-set.

There was immediate backlash to the interview, so Hudson posted on Instagram what apparently was an email from Belichick that was sent on April 10. The alleged email was in blue text and was apparently what Belichick thought about promoting his book. There seemed to be something fishy about the email, and an NFL insider believes he knows what it is.

“‘Do we have approval on that?’ is the smoking gun that tells me Bill Belichick didn’t actually write that email,” Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer posted on X on Tuesday. “There’s zero chance he didn’t know that The Boston Globe wouldn’t give them control over the ‘title’ (he also probably would know it’s a ‘headline’, not a ‘title’).”

It’s important to point out that this is speculation, but it’s based on Breer’s years of reporting on the Patriots. Belichick might have a low opinion on the media, which is reflected in the apparent email, but the quotations around words like “interview” and “podcast” seemed odd. And there appears to be an ignorance about the business that would make it shocking for Belichick not to understand.

Hudson promised in her Instagram post that a statement would be released Tuesday, which could provide more clarity about the CBS interview.
