Two free agents visited Gillette Stadium to begin the first week of the postseason.

The New England Patriots had wide receivers Cole Burgess and Dymere Miller in for workouts on Tuesday, according to the NFL transaction wire.

Burgess, 25, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2024. The 6-foot-1, 198-pound wideout from SUNY Cortland spent his rookie year on the practice squad. After being retained in the AFC North on a futures contract last January, he was waived at the league’s 53-man roster deadline in August.

Through five preseason appearances, Burgess has caught five passes for 44 yards while averaging 25.3 yards per kickoff return. The Red Dragons product totaled 178 receptions for 3,133 yards and 35 touchdowns across 43 games in Division III.

Miller, 24, agreed to terms with the New York Jets after going undrafted in 2025. The 5-foot-11, 184-pound target caught one pass for 24 yards and saw time as a kickoff returner during his rookie preseason before being waived in advance of the league’s cutdown.

A former first-team All-American and program record-setter at Monmouth, where his 1,293 receiving yards and 117.5 receiving yards per game led the FCS in 2023, Miller finished at Rutgers. The senior transfer started a dozen games for the Scarlet Knights last year, scoring four touchdowns while leading the team with 59 catches for 757 yards.

Fellow wideouts John Jiles, Jeremiah Webb and Brandon Smith reside on New England’s practice squad as January begins. The 16-man group currently stands at capacity following the re-signing of defensive tackle Jeremiah Pharms Jr. as well as the release of cornerback Brandon Crossley.

The AFC’s No. 2 seed hosts the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Kickoff in Foxborough is set for 8 p.m. ET.
