The New England Patriots will put their perfect preseason record on the line Thursday when they visit the New York Giants. The Patriots and Giants are two of seven NFL teams with perfect 2-0 preseason records.

Despite the Patriots’ early success under new head coach Mike Vrabel, New England remains at No. 23 overall in the latest preseason power rankings by ESPN and its panel of more than 30 writers and editors.

When addressing the question of who is under the most pressure as the preseason winds down, ESPN.com’s Mike Reiss named left tackle Will Campbell and left guard Jared Wilson.

“The rookies are projected starters. According to ESPN Research and Elias, the Patriots will become the second team in the past 25 years to have two rookies starting on opening day on the left side of the offensive line (the 2016 Ravens are the other team),” Reiss said.

Campbell, the No. 4 pick overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, is expected to protect second-year quarterback Drake Maye’s backside.

The Patriots selected Wilson in the third round at No. 95 overall. Wilson was a center at Georgia, so his transition to guard is a situation which warrants close attention.

New England has great expectations for its rookie class, with much of the focus right now on running back TreVeyon Henderson.

The Patriots selected the Ohio State running back in the second round at No. 38 overall and has turned heads during the preseason with his game-breaking speed which makes him a home-run threat every time he touches the ball.
