Patriots fans remain optimistic despite recent injuries
Pats Pulpit Pats Pulpit

The New England Patriots are in a position to enter their Week 14 bye as the No. 1 seed in the AFC. In order to do so, however, they will have to overcome some recent injuries: Monday night’s game against the New York Giants will see them miss their left tackle (Will Campbell), left guard (Jared Wilson), starting defensive tackle (Milton Williams), and All-Pro special teamer (Brenden Schooler). Even against a two-win team, overcoming those losses will not be easy.

And yet, Patriots fans continue feeling good about the team. While confidence did decrease slightly since last week — from 99% to 91% — both the results of our SB Nation Reacts survey and the comment section show that optimism still reigns supreme in New England.

It all comes down to how long Wilson and Campbell have to sit. Sometimes injury information is held close to the vest. What has been reported seems to indicate both have a chance to get back for the playoffs or even before. Let’s hope so!

Honestly we don’t know how bad those injuries will affect them.Josh has been through this before when the Patriots had to start 4 different tackles and they still won the SB.He knows how to game plan to put them in the best position to win.

Kdog This season has already exceeded my wildest expectations

Just a bump on the road. Good teams have to persevere. If they want to be good…they’ll have to, you guessed it…do it! ha.
This team is just different. Whether previous teams or every team has such love for one another…these guys take it to a whole other level. I don’t recall seeing it like this before. It’s just like Gillette is made from rainbows. Maybe it’s just PR. But they seem tight. That will be the difference maker that gives this team the edge.
The weak schedule, “Fools Gold”, losing half your Oline, 100 Miltonlion dollar man on IR…The Pats will have a target on their backs and no one will think they can do it…But they will.
So yes, I think i’m fairly confident things will be fine.

Chamnaut!1 The Bills and Ravens after the Giants game. In all candor those will be tough games without two starters on the offensive line and without arguably the Patriots best player outside of Drake. It is doable though. I agree wholeheartedly with the poster who stated that McDaniels is a genius game schemer. You can’t replace a Will Campbell but if you can get a player to step up and do a better than average job in the position you can scheme around it.

A change in pace with injuries. Adjusting and coming up with plays that will keep Drake protected with Will Campbell injured. The protection Drake had might need major attention.

All in all, this week’s survey results look as follows:...
