The Patriots won’t hit the field until they face off against the New York Giants on “Monday Night Football.” However, quarterback Drake Maye received a boost in the MVP race on Sunday.

As Week 13 approached, Maye’s odds of winning the MVP were +220, according to FanDuel, placing him just behind Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was listed at -220 odds.

Stafford was the clear favorite to win MVP, but things didn’t go as planned for the veteran quarterback against the Carolina Panthers.

Carolina triumphed over Los Angeles with a score of 31-28. In the game, Stafford passed for 243 yards, tossing two touchdowns but also throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble.

Stafford’s performance dropped his odds to win MVP from -220 to -110 as of Sunday, and Maye now has +150 odds to win the award.

Maye could become the frontrunner if he delivers an outstanding performance against the Giants on Monday. Maye’s priority is to secure a win and put the Patriots in position to make the playoffs. Once that happens, accolades can start coming in for all the team’s achievements.
