New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye will have a new personal protection unit moving forward…

Will Campbell (knee) and Jared Wilson (ankle) were both carted to the locker room amid the club’s victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday — with the expectation being they’ll both be absent for an extended period of time. Vederian Lowe and Ben Brown will be tasked with replacing the rookie duo, and have their quarterback’s full confidence.

“All those reps we got last year, those are gonna pay off,” Maye said on WEEI Afternoons on Monday. “… (They’ve) made me comfortable when they do get reps in practice… That’s the biggest thing I tell them — ‘I trust you guys.'”

Lowe and Brown each started games (13 and 10, respectively) in 2024, though they were part of the league’s worst unit and each graded among the league’s worst (69/81 and 42/43, respectively) at their individual positions, according to PFF.

Maye has confidence they’ll be able to hold up, however. We just have to wait and see whether or not that’s a mistake.
