Drake Maye’s play put him in the spotlight for the New England Patriots as a rookie.

He caught the attention of the league with his athleticism and swift development to a productive level without much help around him. He’s made his way around a media tour during Super Bowl week and offered his own thoughts on seeing his big moments with the Patriots.

“I appreciate the highlight tape,” Maye shared on “Good Morning Football” Tuesday while representing Battle of the Paddles. “Y’all don’t need to do anymore highlights. I appreciate it though. … Some people (watch their own highlights). I like watching my teammates’ highlights.”

Well, the Patriots need more talent around Maye so that his teammates have highlight reels.

New England went 4-13 for a second straight season as an underwhelming roster failed to meet the moment of the NFL season. Maye made players around him better with his skillset. If the Patriots take proper action, he can have more talent around him in 2025 that should create better highlight reels, and more importantly wins, up and down the roster.

Maye’s focused on his growth as a leader and the Patriots will love that answer at the top of the interview.
