The New England Patriots joined the rest of the NFL in revealing their nominee for the 2025 Walter Payton Man of the Year on Thursday.

New England announced Hunter Henry as its selection for the honor, which recognizes players for their positive contributions on and off the field. The NFL Foundation and the Nationwide Foundation will donate $55,000 to a charity of Henry’s choice.

The Patriots shared a statement from chairman and CEO Robert Kraft commending Henry’s nomination.

“We are incredibly proud to have Hunter Henry represent the Patriots as our Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee,” Kraft said. “Hunter embodies the values we cherish most; compassion, integrity, and a commitment to serving others. From his global advocacy with the International Justice Mission to his dedication to uplifting families and children here in New England, Hunter has used his platform to make a profound impact. His leadership on the field is matched only by his generosity off it, and we are honored to celebrate him for the difference he continues to make in so many lives. He embodies everything the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award represents.”

The Patriots championed Henry’s “unwavering commitment to service,” noting that he and his wife, Parker, have raised awareness to combat human trafficking and slavery worldwide. Their Rally for Rescue ping pong event raised $316,000 for victims earlier this year.

Henry has also worked with the Special Olympics and organized giveaways and holiday events for families in need. On the field, the 31-year-old tight end is 65 receiving yards from setting a new career-high in his 10th season.

The national 2025 Walter Payton Man of the Year winner will be revealed during the NFL Honors ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 5.
