The New England Patriots will be taking on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12, and when they do, they won’t have star defensive tackle Milton Williams at their disposal. As a result, the team turned to the practice squad for reinforcements before this game.

Early in the team’s Week 11 win over the New York Jets, Williams suffered an ankle injury that forced him out of the game. Reports indicated Williams suffered a high ankle sprain, which usually takes four to six weeks to recover from, leading the team to place Williams on injured reserve.

The good news is that the Pats have some solid depth on their interior defensive line, but you always want to have all your bases covered heading into a game. That led to former starting defensive tackle Jeremiah Pharms Jr. getting elevated to the active roster for the team’s Week 12 action.

“Patriots elevate DT Jeremiah Pharms Jr. to the active roster,” the team announced in a post on X.

Pharms suited up for 16 games with New England in 2024, five of which were starts. During his time on the field, he racked up 33 tackles and two sacks, but with Williams coming to town and Christian Barmore returning from a scary blood clot incident, he lost his starting job, and eventually, his roster spot, during training camp.

New England reunited with Pharms by adding him to its practice squad, and now, it will reap the benefits of stashing him for the entire season. Pharms appears set to make his 2025 debut when the Pats take on the Bengals at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
