BALTIMORE — Following Lamar Jackson’s deep pass out of bounds, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen remained on the ground with what appeared to be a leg injury.
Queen walked off the field slowly, continuing a dreadful day of injuries for his team. He stood on the sideline without his helmet as John Harbaugh’s offense worked to try to score a go-ahead touchdown. He soon returned to the game as the Steelers stopped the Ravens on fourth-and-goal.
Offensive tackle Andrus Peat, tight end Darnell Washington, inside linebacker Malik Harrison and cornerback Brandin Echols were all evaluated for concussions throughout the game. Only Echols returned.
The Ravens went for it on the following play, a fourth-and-5 from their own 46-yard line. Jackson hit Zay Flowers for a 6-yard gain, continuing his side’s march. The Steelers were ahead 27-22 as Queen exited.
During this week, Queen dealt with a glute injury he suffered last week against the Buffalo Bills. Queen, the Steelers defense’s hub of communication, entered Sunday’s clash with 89 total tackles. He also had a sack, four passes defended, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The Steelers are trying to hold on during a game that feels like their playoff hopes are hanging in the balance.
